Get to know the Role:
As the Lead Data Governance Specialist, you will be working on all aspects of Data, from the business teams to the engineering teams. You will be responsible for building a best of breed Data Governance organization in SEA. You will also be expected to participate in the grounds up implementation of a full Data Governance organization that places data at its core of the business. As a member of the Data Team, you will be an early adopter of all data management and governance practices and are encouraged to think out of the box in this job.
As a Technical Data Steward, you will be responsible for the resolution of data quality issues and technical coordination and troubleshooting of data both from the upstream systems as well as across the business and technical teams.
Responsible for designing the organisation’s data governance policies as part of the data lifecycle.
Have a solid understanding of the data landscape and to consistently be on the top of new and changed datasets.
Help with the adoption and rollout of Digibank's Data Governance tool.
Drive, maintain and operationalise data policy enforcement and processes.
You will also be the administrator of the tool and the central contact person on the usage and issues related to the tool.
Provide guidance to the bank staff on Data Governance policies and procedures
Drive the Data Quality implementation across the bank.
Be responsible for the continual monitoring of data access (from both RBAC and non RBAC) and handle exceptions in accesses.
Be responsible for the creation DG metrics
Work with cross-functional teams to drive the AI governance agenda in the bank and be the point of contact for industry thought leadership forum working groups
The Must-Haves
At least 8+ years of data governance experience, preferably involved in the implementation of data governance activities and processes in a large organization.
Able to understand business requirements of data as well as the complexity of data in technical systems.
Candidates will be aligned appropriately within the organization depending on experience and depth of knowledge.
Must have sound understanding for all Big Data components & Data Warehousing concepts, preferably in SnowFlake.
Must have good fundamental hands-on knowledge of at least one data governance tool.
Strong understanding of Data Quality concepts.
Good knowledge of banking systems and reporting.
Experience with RBAC data access especially in datalakes, preferably within JumpCloud.
Good understanding of privacy laws and regulations, especially in the area of PII handling within a big data environment.
Good understanding of financial laws around the Banking Acts and other related regulations.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to work under tight deadlines.
Must have the knowledge of Data metadata, lineage and catalog concepts
