About your future Team

You will join the Data Strategy, Engineering and Innovation team based in Alcon Digital Hub with the main office in Warsaw, our newly launched powerhouse for designing and delivering innovative solutions across data & analytics, front-end engineering, and other technology areas. You will become a member of a highly successful Analytics team.

About your future Role:
We are excited to offer two Trainee/Junior positions in our 12-month Analytics & BI Development Program, designed to provide a unique opportunity to launch your career in the dynamic field of data and analytics. As a participant in this program, you will receive hands-on training and experience in one of two tracks:

• BI Developer Path (Data Visualization): You will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, including preparing and transforming data to create meaningful insights that drive decision-making across the organization. This role involves working with various BI tools (Tableau, Amazon QuickSight) to transform raw data into meaningful visual insights.
• Analytics Engineer Path (Data Preparation & ETL): You will focus on data preparation, ETL processes using tools like Alteryx, AWS, and KNIME, and other aspects of data transformation to ensure the seamless flow and accessibility of analytics-ready data across the organization. Additionally, you will participate in end-to-end projects where visualization skills will be essential for delivering comprehensive analytics solutions.

After successful completion of the development program, participants will receive a permanent job offer for the position of Junior/Mid - BI Developer or Analytics Engineer, based on their performance and chosen track.

We expect the successful candidates to join us in February - March 2025.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Engage in data analysis and collaborate with team members to solve business problems using data-driven approaches.
• Learn and apply the latest technologies and methods in data and analytics through guided training and real-world projects.
• Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools such as Tableau, CRM Analytics (Einstein) and Amazon QuickSight.
• Leverage expertise in SAP data and Salesforce to ensure seamless integration and optimization of BI solutions.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to extract meaningful insights and present findings in a clear and actionable format.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their BI needs are met and providing ongoing support and guidance.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of BI best practices.
• Conduct training sessions to empower end-users in leveraging BI tools for their analytical needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field or equivalent years of professional experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
• Basic understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with tools like Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Alteryx, AWS, or KNIME is a huge plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Experience in stakeholder management and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in teams.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in working with SAP and Salesforce data is a plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
