Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Product Manager, you will join the Data Platforms and AI Product Management team that has responsibility for our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) portfolio for artificial intelligence (AI) and data management, with a focus on machine vision systems. You will be reporting to the Business Manager for Data and AI, part of the Software and Control segment. You will work with a geographically dispersed team across multiple disciplines inside and outside of Rockwell Automation to support product launches and adoption efforts. As part of the commercial team supporting a new product introduction, you will build new plans and content, and influence new processes. Additionally, you will partner with technology vendors and engineering teams to define product-market fit and go-to-market strategies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Execute the product and commercial strategy for vision system software, including working with technology partners and engineering teams to deliver product features on time, fully scoped, and in budget.
  • Collaborate with product management team and launch partners on commercial strategy of the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Marketing and Portfolio Engineering for all external commercial messaging, launches, campaigns, etc.
  • Engage with multiple internal and external sales channels including direct strategic account management teams, information solutions overlay teams, technical consultants, system integrators, distributors, and value-added resellers.
  • Responsible for business ownership role in Sales Enablement, including channel education on solution offerings, licensing, and procurement.
  • Be the commercial lead on customer-facing issues/complaints within the business.
  • Collaborate with product management and competitive intelligence colleagues to monitor trends and competitive threats within target markets to identify and explain their technical impact on both the portfolio and Rockwell Automation's strategy and priorities.
  • Collaborate with other members of product team on market Analysis (TAM, SAM, etc.) and product positioning.
  • Lead pilot activities with target accounts to validate portfolio offering, create customer references, and build an actionable opportunity funnel for sales to execute.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US or Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time to support on-site customer visits, workshops, and tradeshows.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 8+ years of product marketing, solutions sales or as product owner in a development team.
  • Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of machine vision solutions for industrial applications, and how AI can be used with vision systems.
  • Experience managing and marketing cloud-delivered software products and software-as-a-service value propositions; extra credit for experience transitioning customer from perpetual licensing to subscription models.
  • Knowledge of control system design, implementation, commissioning, and support with knowledge of current Rockwell Automation software products.
  • Knowledge of personas and drivers within industrial automation.
  • Experience working with channel partners and solution delivery teams.
