WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce.
This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language. Resumes must be submitted in English.
Job Description:
The Data Team Lead will oversee the development and validation of statistical models, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with other team leads and departments to support data-driven decision-making and ensure consistency in data handling and reporting. The Data Team Lead will manage a team of data engineers and analysts, guiding them in collecting, organizing, and validating data for various business purposes.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with other department leads, including Financial Planning, Analytics to ensure data is accurate and reliable across all models and reports. Act as the central point of contact for all data-related activities and ensure smooth data flow between teams.
- Lead the development and validation of statistical models for forecasting and risk analysis. Oversee the team’s creation of models related to credit forecasting, risk evaluation, and other key business metrics.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data used in all models and reports. Work with the Data Engineer Analyst and Econometric Analyst to verify that data intake, validation, and security protocols are followed, ensuring high data quality across departments.
- Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineer and Econometrics Analysts, providing guidance on model creation, data management, and analytics.
Requirements
- 100% fluency in English, with exceptional English verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in data management, statistical modeling, and leadership roles preferred.
- Strong experience in statistical models, quantitative analysis, and data validation.
- Proficiency with data management tools and software.
- Proficiency in working with large datasets and guiding data engineers to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Experience with Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required; Teams experience required.
- You must have your own laptop or desktop to use (the company does not supply equipment)
