Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK:

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join the Advanced Computing and Oncology research group within the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In this role, you will support groundbreaking projects focused on cancer imaging, visual computing, and the advanced modeling of multimodal oncology data, including radiology, digital pathology, genomics, and circulating tumor markers. Working closely with the principal investigator (PI), you will collect data and contribute to testing novel AI/ML predictive models with applications in oncology.

Our Department of Radiation Oncology is at the forefront of patient care and research, integrating clinical, translational, and laboratory-based innovation. Comprised of 7 services, 24 residents, and 57 faculty members, the Department plays a pivotal role in shaping current radiation oncology guidelines and standards of care. Our faculty are key collaborators with renowned organizations, including the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, and the National Cancer Institute.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include ten external-beam radiation therapy treatment machines, four simulators, and advanced motion management systems, such as RPM respiratory tracking, Calypso, VisionRT, and ExacTrac. With our cutting-edge linear accelerators and newly renovated brachytherapy suite, we offer a comprehensive, high-quality environment for research and patient care.

 

Role Overview:

  • Apply appropriate analytical techniques to explore data using linear and logistic regression, descriptive statistics, clustering, forecasting, mapping, and simulation in order to identify and analyze trends/patterns in oncology datasets
  • Work with the PI to interpret data and identify data needs
  • Implement data acquisition, curation, and management processes
  • Support the evaluation of predictive algorithms to address a range of research questions
  • Maintain data visualizations to facilitate data-driven decision-making

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, or engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R

Core Skills:

  • Familiarity with software for image visualization and processing such as 3D slicer
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Undergraduate-level coursework in data analysis and statistical modeling

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid role; 2 days a week on-site
  • Hours: 9AM-5PM
  • Reporting to: Assistant Professor Equivelant

Pay Range: $66,500.00-$103,100.00
