What you'll do
As a Data Visualisation and Automation Manager at Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for;

  • Solutions Design: Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and design comprehensive business intelligence solutions. Collaborate with data architecture and engineering teams to ensure the right data is delivered to meet our data visualisation strategy.
  • Data Visualisation: Develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using BI tools (MicroStrategy) to convey insights and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights using BI tools. Identify trends, patterns, and outliers to support data-driven decision-making processes. Extensive experience with SQL and Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Performance Optimisation: Monitor and optimise the performance of BI solutions. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the team whilst recruiting, training and retaining a world class team. Share best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Monitor team activities and highlight risks, issues and progress toward milestones.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Data Quality, governance and data security requirements in delivery.
  • Innovation & Collaboration: Drive innovation by actively engaging in COE forums within the Applied Data Analytics squads at Sainsbury's. Collaborate with the broader Tech, Digital, and Data teams, as well as Service Managers, to ensure a world-class support model for stakeholders

As the Data Visualisation and Automation Manager for Sainsbury's, you are an experienced professional with a proven track record in delivering automated, compelling, and insightful solutions to surface key trends and patterns for end stakeholders. With a strong understanding of the tools, technologies, and data structures involved in reporting, automation, and visualisation, you possess the ability to create efficient and scalable data products that support the achievement of our business strategy goals. Your proactive and initiative-driven approach, coupled with your exceptional communication and influencing skills, allow you to effectively engage and influence senior stakeholders as well as present complex concepts to large teams. With a commercial mindset and the determination to challenge the norm, you thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, driving innovation and delivering impactful results.
