The Nokia Enterprise Data Platform is part of the IT organization, inside Strategy and Technology, where our Data Engineering capabilities are combined to deliver data to every area of our organization. The Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team is looking for a proactive new engineer who will contribute to its development and maintenance. You will be part of a team that is developing and managing Nokia’s data as a service platform. This is a hands-on technical role in a dynamic agile environment, working directly with developers, architects, test engineers, product management and internal customers.
The Data Engineer acts as a technical software expert, accountable for software development including the research, design, programming, and testing of operating or new software. Supporting business and IT to adapt digital technologies faster and to improve application or solution performance.
As part of our team, you will:
- Learn how a Data Engineering team works, what are the daily challenges and what tools are used to deliver the solution
- Collaborate with the EDP Delivery Team and key stakeholders learning how to analyze demands and support their implementation
- Participate in the building and maintenance of data integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity
- Help to monitor the performance of data pipelines and their consuming systems throughput
- Understand how to liaise with network, firewall and public cloud IT teams to resolve connectivity and infrastructure challenges
- Implement developments following standard coding patterns, well-documented and meeting design requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer science or Information & Technology, or Communication with 7-9 years of relevant experience working in a software development or equivalent role.
- Ability to understand data-related challenges and a developer mindset to devise clever solutions.
- Hands-on experience in - SQL, Python, Spark and Azure data Engineering tools.
- Experience with Lakehouse architecture, delta tables, databricks and Unity Catalog.
- Responsible for systems analysis - Design, Coding, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities
- Requirement gathering and understanding, Analyze technical tasks and able to provide reasonable effort estimates.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure Azure-based infrastructure.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support software development and deployment.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement DevOps best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance and reliability.
- Implement security best practices for cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, and build systems.
- Work proactively, independently and with global teams to address project requirements, and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address project delivery risks
- Providing expertise in technical analysis and solving technical issues during project delivery
- Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Team-player posture with the resilience and persistence to turn mistakes into learning opportunities.
- Strong communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively with business and other stake holders
- Motivation and Drive to overcome challenges and succeed in a fast grown technical landscape.
- Knowledge / Working experience in any one of the following would be an added advantage – Power BI, SAP, Databricks, GIT
