Description

The Department of Information and Operations Management at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning [Fall 2024]. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title, Professor of Practice with an administrative appointment as Assistant Dean of AI depending on qualifications.

 

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Develop and oversee innovative academic programs, including the AI and Business Undergraduate Minor and the Flex Online AI and Business Certificate.

  • Lead AI-focused initiatives such as research and new venture pitch competitions, fostering innovation and thought leadership in AI applications in business.

  • Build and nurture corporate partnerships, enabling the application of AI to real-world business challenges and enriching student learning experiences.

  • Contribute to teaching AI-related courses, mentoring faculty and students to enhance AI adoption and application in business contexts.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position must possess:

  • MBA Degree or Masters degree in relaed field

  • Extensive experience in AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, and cloud technologies, with a proven record of driving innovation and operational efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives in emerging technologies, supply chain optimization, and business process improvement.

  • Strong teaching, mentoring, and public speaking skills.

  • Stakeholder management and negotiation expertise to build corporate and academic partnerships.

  • Have an extradorinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting
  • Certified Scrum Master or equivalent experience in Agile methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, Tableau, and other analytics tools.
