Lead Azure Data Developer, Regulatory Reporting, Helsinki

We are now looking for an experienced Lead Azure Data Developer to lead our transition from on-premises solutions to the Azure cloud environment.  The role is based in Helsinki.

A few words about the job:

 

The Team 

 

The Regulatory reporting tribe is responsible for providing the financial reporting required from banks by various regulatory bodies. We take care of several reporting entities related to financial statements, resolution, capital adequacy etc., on behalf of individual OP banks as well as on the group level.  

 

Our tribe consists of six teams, five of which are responsible for different reporting areas, and one that develops new data capabilities for the tribe. We are now looking for an experienced Azure data developer to lead our transition from on-premises solutions to the Azure cloud environment.  

 

This is a new role. You will be assigned to specific projects within reporting teams, but you will also consult other teams when it comes to their new development on the Azure platform. The data team will be your home team, however. 

 

Our office is in Vallila, Helsinki. Usually, we come there at least once a week and combine office and remote work within Finland flexibly. 

 

Your Role 

 

As a Lead Developer you will make sure the software development within your area is done following our architectural and non-functional requirements. You will make the architectural design, manage dependencies, and ensure high quality of the technical implementation. As a seasoned Azure developer, you will also be available to consult other teams in their projects when needed. 

 

We are looking for someone who wants to learn, influence, and make a difference. You can’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty in implementing our platform transition – coding hands-on will be a significant part of your work – but you also need to be able to see the big picture and create long-lasting technical designs for our data and reporting environments. The role requires active communication with different stakeholders and teams on a regular basis. 

What we expect from you?

 

We are looking for an experienced developer with a solid background in data and data warehouse related software development as well as the Azure environment. We hope you are eager to develop your skills further and to learn more. From a tooling perspective we hope you are familiar with the following: 

 

• Azure Data Factory 
• Delta Lake 
• Databricks using SQL and Python, and VSCode. 

 

Additionally, knowledge on Github, Unity Catalog, Terraform and Artifactory is seen as an advantage. Familiarity with common database solutions is also useful. 

 

In this role, working proficiency in English is a must, and while fluency in Finnish is not mandatory, it would be a valuable asset to have. Knowledge of the financial sector and/or regulation is beneficial, too.
