Metro State University, Minnesota’s public, urban university, and four-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a HRIS Data and Process Analyst. This is a full-time position within the Human Resources Department.
Job Responsibilities:
The Data and Process Analyst conducts advanced professional organization and administrative analysis work. This position designs and implements large and complex studies of organizational methods and systems to recommend and install new work methods and procedures. This position will serve as the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst and will assist Human Resources staff and university management with research and fiscal analysis of human resources/personnel data. Using technology, the position will analyze HR-related data to increase the effectiveness of HR processes and strategies. This position supports the implementation and optimization of the Workday system for HR Financial Management, and IT, providing data analysis and reporting to ensure the reliability of the University’s HR data records. This role serves as a critical resource for management, supporting labor relations activities and ensuring compliance with HR rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of HRIS analysis experience supporting an HRIS system, managing projects and implementing project initiatives within a large organization (1000 employees). Bachelor s degree in human resources, information technology or a related field may substitute for 1 year of advanced technical experience.
- Skills in utilizing an HRIS in large organization, preferably Workday or similar HRIS.
- Proficiency with the use and management of databases statistical analysis and data reporting/visualization, using software including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, SPSS or Power BI).
- Demonstrated competence in written communication sufficient to define and document technical data and write reports as needed.
- Excellent customer service skills are important to the position in order to serve the customer in a positive, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team; be amenable to cross-training; and build good working relationships with other staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with report writing and the report writer role in the Workday environment.
- Experience in higher education, especially in managing complex research projects incorporating a variety of research methods
- Ability to synthesize and interpret data and communicate results.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make decisions, and set priorities to meet deadlines.
Other Requirements
Physical Requirements of the Job: Requires occasionally transporting such articles as file folders, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of movement is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Salary Range: $27. 84 - $40.82/hour depending upon experience and qualifications
