What we offer

The Master Data Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate core data management of the pre-construction activities to support the business operations.  The role plays a crucial role in ensuring the data is available for our internal departments to ensure a positive experience for our customer experience and construction operations. 

What you’ll do

  • Model set-up and maintenance in the database system (JDE).
  • Community, phase, and model template creation and maintenance. Ensure adherence to company data standards by performing quality assurance activities on new model and community/phase set-up.
  • Creation and maintenance of options, including customs, in JDE. The specialist will assist the purchasing team in identifying impacted scopes of work as options are created or edited. 
  • Entry of preference selections into JDE, optimizing format of options in JDE for use by the sales and design teams.
  • Identify and assist in the development of new reports and/or the analysis of data within the department.
  • Work with cross departmental teams to identify gaps in data and improvement opportunities, recommending improvements to management.
  • Completes regular reviews of ACO costs and subsequent retail pricing. 
  • Performs regular and thorough audits of job specific purchase orders issued by Data Analysts.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to the contracts team on JDE fundamentals.

What you bring

  • 3-5 years of experience from the construction industry, an estimating background is preferred.
  • Experience with business process modeling and analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, experience working with JD Edwards is considered as an asset.
  • SQL Knowledge and or Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI would be considered as an asset.
  • Advanced MS Office skills in Excel (particularly formulas, pivot tables & Macros), Word (i.e. mail merge) and Outlook, with above-average speed. 
  • Strong data entry skills.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in understanding/resolving problems. 
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in inputting and checking data. 
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work independently, be flexible, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work well under pressure. 
  • Extremely well-organized with strong analytical skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally and thrive in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Be open minded and a forward thinker with a desire to learn and take on new opportunities.  
  • Having an educational background in Administration, Estimating, Purchasing or Computer Applications would be considered an asset.
