Position Overview:

Shields Health Solutions is seeking an Associate Data Analyst to join the Financial Analytics team, reporting to the Lead Data Analyst. This entry-level position involves managing weekly and monthly reporting updates, contributing to the development and maintenance of reporting using Tableau, Excel, and the enterprise data warehouse to support the organization’s performance.

Along with this, the Associate Data Analyst will collaborate across departments to perform analyses along with ad hoc reporting to identify valuable insights for the organization. They will have opportunities to proactively recommend reporting, process, and infrastructure improvements. They will automate business and reporting processes and partner with internal teams to improve workflow. This role offers visibility across the corporate team and interaction with key business leaders to support essential business processes.

The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in working with complex data, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform weekly and monthly reporting updates, ensuring data quality and availability
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and Excel reports
  • Proactively identify and communicate reporting bugs and gaps
  • Support recommendations for enhancements or modifications to business processes and reporting
  • Assist in developing automated reporting processes to streamline analysis
  • Communicate new ideas or enhancements for existing reports and metrics to track business performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to describe and memorialize information with respect to systems, reporting or data
  • Troubleshoot reporting and process issues and collaborate with the team to resolve them
  • Support team and organizational goals as needed

Skills and Position Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a data analyst or in a related role
  • Familiarity with developing dashboards, reporting, and data processes using Tableau, Tableau Prep, or similar tools
  • Basic Understanding of communicating insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to own reporting products and drive development projects
  • Must be a highly motivated, results-driven professional with an entrepreneurial attitude who can thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Growth-oriented and positive and problem-solving mindset
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail; methodical thinker
  • Effective at multi-tasking; someone who enjoys and thrives wearing multiple hats at once, seeks exposure to different perspectives, and learning new skills
  • Customer service oriented, flexible and adaptable with proven ability to solve problems in a collaborative manner with strong ability to influence
  • Experience with Python and R a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, finance, business administration, or computer science
  • Relevant coursework or internships in data analysis is a plus

Location:

  • Boston Based role with Hybrid Schedule
