Data Engineer

We are embarking on a new strategic initiative for one of our US based clients, a leader in the premium footwear industry. We seek a Data Engineer to become a pivotal team member for this challenge. As a Data Engineer you will develop robust and scalable data engineering systems and utilities to ingest data from internal and external source systems and make that data available to our stakeholders in a reliable and easily discoverable manner to assist in data-driven business decisions.

Our objective is to:

• Advance our data strategy with the introduction of new data governance and management systems
• Amplify our competitive edge by developing data-driven systems
• Integrate machine learning into our platform, enhancing our decision-making capabilities

We will be working together on the following:

• Replicating existing data pipeline patterns to support new pipeline development
• Writing functional utilities leveraging common data-centric libraries
• Performing basic troubleshooting of data pipeline failures
• Performing necessary database operations, both manually and via Data Definition Language (DDL)
• Creating efficient database queries
• Operating via the AWS console and performing CLI commands
• Understanding different types of tests (unit/functional/integration/end-to-end/interface/contract)

You might be our missing piece if you have:

• Degree in a technical field (like Computer Science) or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Firm understanding of database structure principles
• Experience analyzing extensive data sets from a diverse range of domains
• Ability to gather and analyze system requirements
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, D3.js)
• Understanding of predictive modeling, NLP and text analysis, Machine Learning
• A passion for data and solving complex problems
• An analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail
