MAIN PURPOSE

 

The Data Engineer will integrate in the Group Technology Data team. He/She will be responsible for the acquisition and modeling of data to provide outputs for analytics and data science.

 

The Data Engineer will focus on building consumable models and data visualizations, but will ultimately be responsible for the full data life cycle within the assigned task/project/product area, from data ingestion to data processing and preparation.

 

He/She will work closely with the Group Data Office to ensure the end-to-end consistency of the related data products.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Translate the business requirements into technical specifications, in cooperation with Group Data Office.

 

  • Estimate, plan, manage, and lead the assigned data integration projects/tasks within the Data Warehouse team. Coordinate the related tasks and workload with the rest of the Data Warehouse engineers.

 

  • Build corresponding ETL/ELT processes and data flows to provide data outputs for analytics and data science.

 

  • Create consumable data models and visualizations.

 

  • Cooperate with the support teams to ensure data consistency, data accuracy, and performance of the delivered flows. Provide L3 support when required.

 

  • Define and promote best practices and design principles for Data Warehouse and Analytics architecture in cooperation with the Data Warehouse architect.

 

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, or comparable field.

 

  • At least four years working in comparable engineering roles.

 

  • Strong programing skills in SQL, and Python.

 

  • Strong knowledge of Looker (including LookML).

 

  • Experience with dbt.

 

  • Knowledge of dbt and version management tools (e.g. GIT).

 

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses, preferable with GCP – BigQuery.

 

  • Scrum methodology knowledge.
