Role summary:

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will influence the strategy and development of scalable solutions as part of the modelling solutions team and be involved with the complete software lifecycle – from architecture to deployment.

We are looking for skilled backend developers with ability to deliver high-quality code that aligns with business goals, and project timelines.

You will combine critical thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach to ensure your team ships efficient software.

What you'll be doing:

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight in a high-impact environment focused on innovation and continuous development.

  • Write exemplary code, setting standards for code quality, operational posture and SDLC standards.
  • Solve sophisticated technical issues, optimize development workflows.
  • Establish and implement high-quality coding practices, including code reviews, testing standards, and standards to maintain robust and clean code.
  • Mentor and guide engineers across skill levels, with your collaborative and growth-focused team culture while ensuring high-quality code practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product, and software engineering teams to implement project requirements, influence technical direction, and establish good development practices.

What you'll bring:

Essential skills:

  • Experience in software engineering with a focus on designing and implementing high-performance, scalable systems.
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented programming in Python for backend development.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies (emphasis on Azure) and deployment practices, ensuring flawless and scalable delivery.
  • Proven track record to establish and uphold coding and design standards to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Effective teamwork, with experience working with engineering teams across geographies and time zones.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring, to streamline development workflows and improve deployment reliability.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or related field, or equivalent work experience

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $84,200 - $156,600.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match. LSEG’s Benefits plan also includes basic life insurance, disability benefits, emergency backup dependent care, adoption assistance commuter assistance etc.
