Thompson Thrift is seeking a Data Engineer to join our corporate team! In this dynamic role, you’ll design, maintain, and enhance data architecture and infrastructure to prepare data for analysis, supporting business intelligence and decision-making.   • Design, update, and maintain custom databases and data warehouses.
  • Stage data for analysts and report writers to support business objectives.
  • Directly assist with data analytics, including report creation and maintenance.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with custom databases and systems.
  • Perform database upgrades and maintain associated processes.
  • Develop database strategies and models to support business solutions.
  • Select and maintain database tools, standards, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to define requirements and manage project plans.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of database systems in collaboration with the security team.
Our Ideal Candidate: 
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, data analytics, data science, or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications or training from coding academies are also considered.
  • Minimum Experience: 4 years of experience in database development, design, and implementation.
  • Expertise in relational databases and data warehouse systems, including SQL Server, Transact-SQL, and Python.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Analysis Services, Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI.
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies and modeling is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
