Brief Job Overview
The Digital & Innovation group at USP is seeking a Data Architect with skills in Data Governance, Modelling and Solutioning to work on projects that drive innovations and deliver digital solutions. We are seeking someone who understands the power of data and enjoys communicating the insights and help create an unified experience across our ecosystem.

Core analytics capabilities include the ability to instrument critical metrics, identify the landscape of the entire function, determine opportunities for improvement, work with Product to craft scalable solutions, and monitor their performance.
Who is USP Looking For?
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Analytics or Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics) or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Lead Data Architect - Minimum of 9 - 12 years of experience in data engineering/analytics, with at least 3 - 5 years in an architect / Solution designer role.
Principal Data Architect - Minimum of 12 - 15 years of experience in data engineering/analytics, with at least 4 - 7 years in an architect / Solution designer role.
- As a Senior Data Architect with expertise in data architecture and modeling, you will lead the design and development of data products within D&I.
- While you are a competent IC Data Engineer, you are well versed in Enterprise Data Modeling and setting up data quality and governance standards.
- Defines the data architecture target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
- Participates in data architecture governance bodies
- Evaluates recommendations and provides feedback for new technologies
- Strong exposure in implementing and enforcing data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Knowledge of one of the Enterprise Data Cataloguing platforms is crucial.
- Experience of utilizing observability platforms like Datadog to monitor data pipelines and infrastructure for ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Exposure of configuring and integrating data engineering tools seamlessly, including setting up project/workspace structures and integrating with cloud resource groups
- Strong proficiency in setting up data governance frameworks using Azure Purview or equivalent.
- Strong Proficiency in modelling and orchestrating scalable enterprise architecture(s) like data mesh , data virtualization techniques etc.
- Proficient at implementing data policies, metric/ KPI level governance, data quality and data security rules.
- Exposure in solving data models /data structures using Knowledge Graphs.
- Executes creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions. Also recommends the best tech stack needed to solve a business problem at scale.
- Good understanding of how to enable analytics using cloud technology & ML Ops
- Proficiency in ETL pipelines and reporting tools.
- Good understanding of AI, Gen AI and ML applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into marketing strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team.
- Experience in data governance and ensuring data quality and compliance with relevant regulations.
Additional Desired Preferences
- Master's in computer sciences or equivalent fields
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver tailored digital data platform solutions.
- Communicate complex insights with reasoning in a clear and compelling manner to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
