The Localisation Automation Team is responsible for developing tools and technologies that allow Apple to localise and ship products such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Vision Pro, and more across the world. We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to take our Localisation process to the next level. You will be in charge of crucial processes and tools that impact nearly every Apple product with the objective of making it even better. You will also develop new tools and applications to enhance Apple's Localisation technologies.

Description

Our environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously and to manage aggressive delivery schedules. Suitable candidates should have a strong background in Computer Science, excellent problem solving skills and passion to improve existing processes and tools. The right mix of technical, organizational, and communication skills is key to success. Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage priorities are essential. Specific responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing and improving back-end web services - Working cross-functionally with teams across Engineering to add support for new software features - Troubleshooting and resolving complex software integration issues

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
• Experience with back-end frameworks (e.g. Ruby on Rails, Django)
• Experience with databases and indexing (e.g. Cassandra, SQL, Solr)
• A technical background in UNIX commands in Terminal

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Experience designing reusable API
• Interest and background in translation, internationalisation, localisation, and international markets
• Experience with Machine Learning (ML), with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Native level foreign language skills in reading, writing and speaking
• Familiarity with Python and Ruby
• A track record of shipping products
