Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain databases, ensuring high performance and availability.

  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data retrieval, reporting, and integration.

  • Collaborate with software developers to ensure efficient database functionality and integration within applications.

  • Optimize database systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.

  • Troubleshoot database issues, including data integrity, connectivity, and performance bottlenecks.

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to move and transform data across systems.

  • Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are implemented effectively.

  • Conduct regular database testing, tuning, and maintenance to improve system efficiency.

  • Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Database Developer or similar role.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

  • Hands-on experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning.

  • Experience with ETL tools, data warehousing, and data integration processes.

  • Familiarity with database security best practices.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging database issues.

  • Experience working with version control systems..

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell scripting, etc.) is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).

  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
