We are seeking a Robotics Research Scientist to join our cutting-edge team in robotics research. In this role, you will conduct advanced research and development to design, implement, and improve robot motion prediction, planning, and control algorithms and models for real-world autonomous systems and industry solutions. You will focus on delivering high-performance solutions to achieve safe, robust, and efficient prediction, planning and control capabilities for vehicles/robots. Experience in deploying these solutions in real products is a plus, such as in mobile robots, mobile manipulators, autonomous driving vehicles, etc. This position offers a unique opportunity to advance state-of-the-art technology and work with leading researchers and engineers in this field.

Job Description

  • Work on research, design, and implementation of software features that benefit our customers to meet their performance targets and build unique values.
  • Design, develop, and enhance machine learning models for prediction, planning, and control tasks in various types of robots.
  • Design and run simulations and tests to evaluate and benchmark prediction, planning, and control algorithms in real-world and simulated environments.
  • Partner with other business units or teams to ensure smooth integration of prediction, planning, and control solutions into the real products.
  • Contribute to academic publications and patents, staying up-to-date on the latest research in robotics and related fields.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, and Control Engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on motion prediction, planning and control.
  • 3 years of research or industry experience in autonomous systems, machine learning, robotics, or autonomous vehicles.
  • Highly self-motivated. Ability to tackle complex challenges, work independently, and manage multiple projects.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
    • Experience with prediction, planning, and control algorithms.
    • Priority will be given to candidates with practical, mass-production experience in the fields of prediction, planning, and control for robotics or autonomous vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Publications in top-tier conferences/journals in machine learning, automation and control, robotics, autonomous driving, etc.
    • Experience with real-world prediction, planning, and control for robotics or autonomous driving applications.
    • Fluent in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Candidates with overseas experience are preferred.
