Job Description

Data and Analytics Product Director is a newly redefined role that plays a critical part in Fastmarkets’ evolution and growth trajectory. As a leader in the Product function, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and build innovative products that meet the changing needs of our customers.  

This role is not just about managing existing portfolio of offerings; it’s about envisioning and creating new solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies, including Generative AI and Advanced Analytics, to enhance our product portfolio. In this role, you will sharpen your commercial skills while navigating the complexities of end commodity markets. Your strategic insights and leadership will be instrumental in driving profitability and market relevance for Fastmarkets, making this role vital to the next stage of our growth.  

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for portfolio of products under remit, aligning with the company’s overall vision and informed by market analysis 

  • Product Portfolio Management: Actively manage product portfolio for key commercial, strategic and customer outcomes (e.g. product P&L, usage), including driving product innovation, launching new products, discontinuing unviable products 

  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of end commodity markets to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape, ensuring the product portfolio remains relevant and innovative. 

  • Commercial Acumen: Leverage strong business insights to drive product decisions, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans that maximize revenue and market share. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with content (Editorial, Analytics) marketing, and sales to ensure successful product development and launch, fostering a collaborative environment that drives results. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate product vision and strategy to internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring alignment and buy-in across all levels of the organization. 

  • Team Development: Mentor and lead a team of product managers, BAs and Data scientists fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

  • ducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management or related roles within a B2B environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. Proven track record of successfully launching and managing multiple products throughout their lifecycle. 

  • Strategic Acumen: Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. Ability to think strategically while also managing day-to-day operations. 

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams. Exceptional mentoring abilities with a focus on developing talent within the organization. 

  • Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel) with a strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable strategies. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences at all levels of the organization. 

  • Problem-Solving Orientation: Strong analytical thinking with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions.
