The Insurance, Wealth and Retirement business is excited to be transforming and investing its core data capabilities and the way we operate with data to unlock its potential through a modernisation of our technology and data estate.
As part of this we are transforming our data foundations, and we have an exciting opportunity for a number of Senior Data Product Owners to join the team and work across our business units to shape our data into an asset which can support our business strategies. This role will be in support of our customer operations areas where we are constantly evolving and transforming to create great customer experiences – alongside leading a team providing analytics into our operational areas to identify and solve a range of use cases.

A bit about the job:
The role will work across the organization to collaborate with senior data and business leaders, engineers, data & platforms architects, and business/data teams to deliver solutions which will empower our data teams to be able to transform our data capability. You will be responsible for shaping, owning and delivering an exciting data product roadmap - alongside leading a small analytics team delivering analytics and insights which can drive change and provide solutions into our operational areas. You will work with a variety of teams to build new use cases, decommission old technology and deliver a step change in data capability.
Working across a broad range of initiatives both in BAU and our transformation portfolio, you will formulate and deliver against a data roadmap, balancing tactical and strategic needs to move towards a purposeful set of data products alongside shaping innovative analytics solution to help us solve our most important business problems. You will also be the key contact into the business areas to ensure these changes are fully embedded to maximise the benefit to them.

You will work as part of a wider team who are passionate about data where we value diversity and talent development who are driving forwards how we unlock our data through engineering, analytics, Data Science and GenAI capability.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Highly experienced at solving business problems through data-led technology solutions, managing diverse cross-functional teams – preferably in large scale complex data environment - with a strong commercial mindset.
- Confident in leading large scale data projects, managing a team of data professionals – with a technical background and knowledge of how to deliver great solutions.
- Have experience of working in product teams and owning the definition and delivery of requirements. Experience in applying agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, Jira, and confluence, to manage the data product development and delivery process.
- Be confident in understanding and articulating the needs of different stakeholders, and leading groups to a consensus or recommendation, with great consultative skills to work directly with the business and technology leaders and appropriately influence, understand, and resolve capability gaps.
- Highly detailed with a systematic approach to detail, but also able to effectively handle multiple, constantly evolving, and conflicting priorities.

- Starting salary between £65,000 - £85,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
