Project Overview:

Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world’s largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.

 

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE’s most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities – Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory – as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.

 

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland). This position requires shift work (rotating 4 x 12 schedule – 4 days on, 4 days off) where days and nights are changed very three months. Work shifts are from 5:30am/pm to 5:30pm/am.

 

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and Amentum. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

 

Job Summary:

This position is an entry level data analyst for Industrial Safety and Hygiene (IS/IH) primarily responsible to maintain safety and health databases; compile and organize data; and create, publish, and present reports and metrics. This position reports to the Industrial Hygiene Manager.
Will involve close supervision and detailed instructions. Entry Level position. #LI-EH1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to organize and effectively coordinate multiple and frequently conflicting, concurrent tasks, with excellent follow-through.
  • Identify ES&H trends, develop metrics, reports and visualizations to provide feedback to Industrial Hygiene team and safety management.
  • Use data visualization programs, tools, and techniques to generate dashboards, reports, and presentations that aid in data storytelling. Develops and maintains Industrial Hygiene team metrics and communication products using Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Enter, gather, review, sort, manipulate and compile ES&H data on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis within a variety of web-based records management systems and databases.
  • include Incident Reporting and Information Systems, IH monitoring database, for noise dosimetry, heat stress, real time monitoring, gas monitors, etc., Microsoft Access (IH Instruments), inspection software data bases. List is not all-inclusive.
  • Gather and manipulate data for ES&H activities, such as: Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART) cases; heat stress monitoring, chemical sampling and monitoring, light surveys, hearing conservation noise surveys, respiratory protection usage, ergonomic evaluations, confined space evaluations, IH instrument and calibration management. Other data sources may apply.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of processes, procedures, methodologies, and systems relevant to statistical reporting, including preparation of appropriate documentation, reports, and/or spreadsheets.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and less than 1 year of relevant experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience. 


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Preferred, not required, 1+ years of Safety experience.
