Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong expertise in SQL to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your analytical skills and technical proficiency to gather, analyze, and interpret complex business data, providing actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions, perform advanced queries, create dashboards, and contribute to process improvements for our Master Data Management (MDM) solution. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analysis and reporting, coupled with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality Assurance & Collaboration:
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract data from large databases.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in the data sets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve identified issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis to understand the underlying causes of data discrepancies.
  • Propose and implement data corrections and enhancements to prevent future issues.
  • Document analytical processes and results, ensuring clear communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used for MDM. Address data quality issues through cleansing, validation, and verification processes.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance data quality and governance practices.
  • Develop reports and dashboards and build compelling data visualizations that effectively measure, track, and quantify changes in customer behavior and data quality patterns.
  • Data Governance and Policies:
  • Collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to support business objectives
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to govern master data creation, maintenance, and usage.
  • Establish data quality standards, metrics, and KPIs to measure and monitor the effectiveness of MDM initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles within the organization.
  • Documentation and Communication:
  • Document data models, processes, governance frameworks, and analytical findings to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Display deep intellectual curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learning to solve critical business problems and push the boundaries of our capabilities.
  • Contribute to complex long-term projects from initial scoping through full execution and training with inputs from various cross-functional teams (IT, Business, Marketing, Loyalty, and more).
  • Utilize exceptional communication skills to present findings across the business by effectively translating complex data and analysis into clear insights, opportunities, and tangible business recommendations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, math, or related business field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis or data architecture
  • Proficiency in tools like SQL (Advanced), Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Experience with building large data sets across disparate sources required
  • Writing complex SQL query to analyze data from across
  • Experience with statistical programming language Python (Basic)
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Desire to learn new analytic and data manipulation techniques to become a ‘local expert’
  • Ability to think conceptually and creatively about problems and solutions
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, are required due to the nature and level of interaction with senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience using data quality and profiling tools such as SAP Information Steward, Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), or Reltio (MDM).
  • Understanding MDM concepts, including data modeling, governance, quality management, and integration.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on MDM principles, methodologies, and best practices, guiding project teams and stakeholders on MDM-related matters.
