LMI is seeking a skilled Accessibility UX Expert to join our cutting-edge generative AI (GenAI) platform, LIGER™, created by our technology studio, LMI Forge. Responsibilities

  • Participating in working groups and/or meetings with stakeholders to discuss requirements and/or presenting Section 508 strategies and solutions 
  • Providing guidance on technical issues involving Section 508 and WCAG as it relates to web applications, accessible documents and electronic media 
  • Assisting in developing a Section 508 compliance program by ensuring company policies and procedures are consistent with federal and departmental policies and industry best practices 
  • Assisting in the development and application of Section 508 Compliance training programs to instruct delivery teams on h how to develop compliant products and deliverables 
  • Collaborate with users and subject matter experts to understand and define their challenges, motivations, and aspirations, identifying opportunities for GenAI-driven solutions.  
  • Solve problems and think critically to design innovative LLM-driven technology and functional solutions.  
  • Communicate research and designs using wireframes, workflows, hi-fidelity designs, storyboards, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders, including senior leadership and service lines.  
  • Work with team members to define, prototype, and iterate product features, creating mock-ups and prototypes.  
  • Document clear, organized solutions that are understandable by stakeholders, engineers, and others.  
  • Adapt designs as needed, addressing ambiguity and changes throughout projects.  
  • Develop tools to visualize AI decision-making, enhancing user understanding of LLM outputs.  
  • Provide guidance to ensure GenAI solutions align with industry standards, best practices, ethical considerations, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Integrate system, process, and interface elements for seamless user experiences.  
  • Rapidly test designs with users using both passive and active methods.  
  • Conduct large-scale, ongoing UX research for both conceptual designs and developed software.  
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing for AI components at critical release milestones. 

Qualifications

Required  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in design, user experience, technology, computer science, or related technical discipline. 
  • 5+ years of experience in product design or related discipline.  
  • Strong understanding of good user interface design (consistency, simplicity, usability).  
  • Strong knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards. 
  • Develop, review, and edit digital content to ensure it meets Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards. 
  • Experience conducting accessibility audits and using tools like WAVE, AXE, or JAWS. 
  • Experience with AI and machine learning concepts and their applications in user experience design.  
  • Understanding of AI ethics and incorporating responsible AI practices in design.  
  • Experience collaborating with data scientists and integrating AI-driven features into products.  
  • Experience in qualitative research, persona development, user journey mapping, and visualizing user-experience flows.  
  • Experience in user research, including interviews, user testing, persona creation, information architecture, and workflow creation.  
  • Strong understanding of visual design elements (typography, hierarchy, balance, motion, interaction).  
  • Portfolio showcasing design best practices and methodologies.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.  
  • Experience with design tools, such as Figma and Adobe CC.  

 

Preferred  

  • Familiarity with the other components of the Rehabilitation Act (Sections 501, 503, and 504)   
  • Experience with Maze, Dovetail, and other UX research tools.   
  • Experience working with and designing tools that incorporate LLMs such as GPT4, LLAMA, Claude, etc.  
  • Experience working in an agile software development framework.   
  • Experience working with Acquisition or procurement professionals  
  • Previous experience in the government contracting space.  
  • Clearance: Secret
