The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here at Edwards Air Force Base. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for applicants that enjoy working with and learning from their peers and are not afraid to jump in and make a difference!
Responsibilities will include:
Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently
Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints
Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints
Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools
Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams
Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers
Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies
Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies
Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
Complete time studies and follow through with action items resulting from the study
Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3):
Bachelor's of Science degree with 4 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a Master’s of Science degree with 3 years of I Industrial Engineering, Project Management or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System)
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
Ability to travel at least 10%
Must be able to work any shift
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 4):
Bachelor's of Science degree with 8 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a Master’s of Science degree with 6 years of I Industrial Engineering, Project Management or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System)
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
Ability to travel at least 10%
Must be able to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree preferred
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
Flight test experience
At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams
Experience with SQL, VBA, Python or other programming languages
Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods
Experience with agile methods of project management or development
Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment
