Overview

LMI is seeking a Data Infrastructure SME to support our efforts to help modernize, architect and build world class solutions for a US Army Client. The Data Infrastructure SME will be responsible for leading the development of a shared data solution, ensuring that customer workloads can seamlessly integrate and leverage common data standards, while supporting data governance, storage, and analytics at scale. The successful candidate will be part of a high performing team that will help provide deep technical experience, knowledge and ability to deploy solutions against challenging and shifting problem sets. The work accomplished here will set the stage for how this client builds solutions and solves problems moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a shared data solution that supports data governance, storage, and analytics at scale 
  • Ensure that customer workloads can seamlessly integrate and leverage common data standards 
  • Collaborate with Army stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of the shared data solution into the Army's existing IT infrastructure 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Army personnel and contractors working on the shared data solution 
  • Stay abreast of emerging data technologies and Army standards, and recommend changes to the shared data solution as needed 
  • Ensure compliance with Army cybersecurity standards and best practices 
  • Listen to problems defined by less technical individuals and help craft common solutions 
  • Communicate deep technical aspects to non-technical stakeholders and leadership in an engaging manner where stakeholders are brought along for the journey 
  • Provide regular status reports to senior Army leaders and LMI management 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable 
  • At least 10 years of experience in data infrastructure, including experience with data governance, storage, and analytics at scale 
  • Experience building containerized data architecture solutions 
  • Experience with proprietary and open-source software solutions 
  • Experience in modernizing on-premises solutions and working in various cloud service provider platforms 
  • Experience with data management tools, such as Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, and Apache Flink (technology is example and not necessarily reflective of software being used) 
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies, such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and Microsoft Azure Synapse (technology is example and not necessarily reflective of software being used) 
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes (technology is example and not necessarily reflective of software being used) 
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker (technology is example and not necessarily reflective of software being used) 
  • Experience with data technologies, such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Immuta (technology is example and not necessarily reflective of software being used) 
  • Ability to think and deploy more “full-stack” than purely “just data” 
  • Expertise in Army standards and requirements for data infrastructure 
  • Experience working with Army stakeholders and contractors 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Active Secret clearance required 

 

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances. 

 

The salary range for this position is $200,000-$230,000.
