As a Data Engineer within PNC’s Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Birmingham, AL or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.

As a Data Engineer, you will demonstrate a clear understanding of SDLC, architecture and design elements, and provide strategies to enhance integration and efficiencies to ensure optimal software performance. Job duties may include:
• Analyzing and evaluating requirements by working with users and providing recommendations on the scope and complexity of the solution
• Acting as a lead by developing and documenting technical specifications for proposed solutions. This includes hands on coding and testing to support solutions.
• Using trouble shooting skills to identify, research and propose solutions to the problems and accommodate necessary changes or corrective actions as needed. This may require coordination with our cross functional platform teams /departments/business partners to resolve complex issues.
• Providing technical guidance to software development teams whenever needed.

Due to the nature of the position, we are seeking candidates with the following skillsets:
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes and tools, Informatica
• Expert level SQL skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sound technical skills with a strong working knowledge of business segment to effectively translate business needs to IT solutions
• Proficient with code deployment tools such as Udeploy, Artifactory and GitHub
• Ability to review coding, testing and overall documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Ability to work in agile environment.
• Good communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills
• A qualified candidate will be forward thinking highly motivated and self-starting, able to work efficiently within a team as well as work efficiently on independent assignments. This position is about 80% hands on and 20% innovation
• Capable of moving seamlessly between iterative prototyping and enterprise application development and support.

Job Description
  • Develops, supports and implements data services for multiple applications to meet business objectives and user requirements. Uses technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.
  • Works closely with users, developers, operations and business partners to define data service requirements and the data preparation process development.
  • Designs and builds data service infrastructure on multiple data platforms, according to key business processes and the overall workflow.
  • Develops and implements data solutions for multiple applications to ensure its scalability, availability and maintainability.
  • Implements data migration and transformation activities/processes to ensure the accuracy and security of data solutions.
