Job Description Summary

The System Manager, Transplant Data Integrity and Reporting reports to the System Administrative Officer of Transplant Services. This position leverages extensive expertise in data science, advanced database management, and business intelligence to drive strategic decisions and enhance health outcomes. Responsible for leading the development and implementation of data models, optimizing database objects, and providing actionable insights through advanced data analytics. This role provides support for the Transplant ICCE to facilitate the processes to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Areas of analysis span several topics and are not restricted to one functional area. Examples include program evaluation, operations research, business planning, process design, strategy development, policy issues, profitability assessments, and major implementations.

Job Description

The System Manager, Transplant Data Integrity and Reporting reports to the System Administrative Officer of Transplant Services. This position leverages extensive expertise in data science, advanced database management, and business intelligence to drive strategic decisions and enhance health outcomes. Responsible for leading the development and implementation of data models, optimizing database objects, and providing actionable insights through advanced data analytics. This role provides support for the Transplant ICCE to facilitate the processes to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Areas of analysis span several topics and are not restricted to one functional area. Examples include program evaluation, operations research, business planning, process design, strategy development, policy issues, profitability assessments, and major implementations.

Job Summary:

Leverage extensive expertise in data science, advanced database management, and business intelligence to drive strategic decisions and enhance health outcomes. Responsible for leading the development and implementation of data models, optimizing database objects, and providing actionable insights through advanced data analytics. Works in collaboration with the Transplant Informatics team on fulfilling complex data requests using Epic databases and ensuring HIPAA guidelines are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

30% Advanced Data Science and Health Information:

  • Lead the development and implementation of sophisticated data models, algorithms, and statistical methods to analyze complex health information.
  • Oversee the extraction, cleaning, and processing of large and intricate datasets from various health information systems, as well as their ongoing maintenance.
  • Conduct high-level data analysis to identify critical trends, patterns, and insights related to health outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior healthcare professionals to understand nuanced data needs and provide actionable insights that drive decision-making.

35% Database Management and Creation:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain highly efficient and secure relational and non-relational databases for health information.
  • Ensure robust data integrity, security, and privacy in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Optimize database performance through advanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning techniques.
  • Design and implement complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple disparate sources.

35% Strategic Business Intelligence:

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated business intelligence dashboards and reports using advanced tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Deliver actionable business insights through high-quality data visualization and comprehensive reporting.
  • Collaborate with executive teams to define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that align with strategic goals.
  • Support executive decision-making processes by providing data-driven recommendations, advanced forecasts, and strategic insights.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate degree in Business Management, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated project support work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data science, database management, and business intelligence, with a significant portion in organ transplant.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale datasets and complex database systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with data visualization tools and business intelligence platforms.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in advanced programming languages such as SQL, Python, R.
  • In-depth knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and data architecture.
  • Expertise in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, pic Slice Dicer, Clarity, Caboodle and Epic Data Models, SQL).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations.
  • Epic Phoenix certification.
  • Epic Clarity/Caboodle certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.
  • Able to take direction and support a variety of projects.
  • Able to conduct research and educate oneself in unfamiliar areas in order to gain expertise and successfully assist with a variety of projects.
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness, and results orientation.
