Data Analyst - Deposit Operations

Job Description

SUMMARY

This position will assist in creating and maintaining reporting for Deposit and Digital Operations. This person will provide departmental insights on performance and develop data models to solve various quantitative projects. You will work closely with technology on business requirements and data warehouse solutions to meet departmental needs.  

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Responsible for creating new, modifying existing, and performing ad-hoc reporting in support of business processes and data-driven decision making. Must have the ability to create meaningful dashboards on Power BI and Excel.
  • Develop strong Data Quality standards and controls to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Manages and creates new data pipelines from source systems to the Data Warehouse. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Deposit & Digital data
  • Works closely with Deposit & Digital Operations Management and Business Analysts to understand business requirements, maintain thorough documentation and obtain business sign offs for all reporting needs, from daily working reports to high level metrics.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful patterns that provide actionable results.
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources and reconciles conflicts
  • Validates data for correctness by verifying against requirements
  • Research data errors and remediate poor data
  • Participates in the Data Governance program by updating the data dictionary and policy & procedures.
  • Analyze and confirm metrics are effective and provide feedback to department leaders of trends that require attention

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs duties as requested by Manager
  • Complete all required compliance exams on a yearly basis
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
  • Dresses professionally

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.   
  • 2-5 years banking experience required.
  • Knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures required.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in ETL tools such as SSIS, PowerBI Dataflows, or other Big Data integrations.
  • Strong data modeling experience utilizing star schema or other techniques.
  • Problem-solving through statistical analysis with large data sets highly preferable 
  • Experience with SSMS, Power BI and Power Query
  • Knowledge of DAX, SQL, M Code
  • Experience with Smartsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group; executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong initiative in the development and timely completion of projects and deadlines
  • Exhibits sound and ethical judgment.
  • Exceptional time management skills in order to effectively multi-task.
  • Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity.  
  • Willingness to accept additional responsibilities
