This is an exciting opportunity to join our Chief Technology Officer's growing team and lead the development of our Digital Products as a Product Owner. Our charging point network is quickly growing in size, as is the utilisation of our charge points and the number of users we serve. The key objective of the role is to embed industry knowledge, data analysis and user research into the development road map of our future features and services. The successful candidate joins a small, motivated and fast paced development team and there is plenty of room to shape the future role. The successful candidate will report directly to our Head of Digital Technology but work closely with key personnel from across the business. Integration across the business is also essential especially with our marketing team, supporting their research activities and championing the user.   

 

We require a motivated individual with proven product management skills to help manage the day-to-day activities of developing user-centric technology. You will be comfortable curating your work within DevOps to ensure cross functional dependencies are met and maintain the necessary overview and control over open issues regarding the performance of projects. In addition, you will support developing the wider digital strategy and ensure its implementation. Your skills will directly help improve the reach and convenience of our EV network and further contribute to the decarbonisation of our world.   

 

Your Role 

As a Technical Product Owner, you’ll drive the development of our digital products—enhancing our software capabilities and enabling the future of EV charging. You’ll blend technical expertise and a data-driven approach to build innovative solutions, collaborating closely with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Data and Hardware teams. 

Requirements

Responsibilities  

  • Define and own the product roadmap for our back-office system and its new features, as well as other digital products, aligning them with wider business goals 
  • Use data analysis and user research to prioritize improvements and deliver an exceptional back-office experience. 
  • Collaborate with development teams using tools like Azure DevOps to manage backlogs, sprints, and project timelines. 
  • Build and present business cases for new products and product enhancements, focusing on user value and ROI. 
  • Evaluate competitor products to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. 
  • Lead collaboration with key suppliers to align on product goals and delivery timelines. 
  • Design user journeys and wireframes using Figma. 
  • Refine and develop product processes to improve efficiency. 
  • Stay up to date on emerging industry standards and regulations, and their potential impact on products. 
  • Take a data-driven approach to the development of digital products 
  • Be the day to day point of contact for key supplier liaison. 
  • Inform and report to the business on the development and build processes which help fulfil the function such as quality management, performance reporting and annual reports. 

 

Requirements:  

  • Analytical mindset: You’re data-driven, curious, and love solving problems. 
  • Self-starting individual with a strong appetite to learn 
  • 3+ years in Product Management, Product Development, UX Research, or Agile/Scrum roles. 
  • Experience with SQL (or a strong willingness to learn). 
  • Python or JavaScript experience useful 
  • API testing and management (on a tool like postman), or a willingness to learn 
  • A keen interest in utilising emerging technologies (ML, AI, etc.) 
  • Experience using Figma, or a willingness to learn 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a track record of delivering great products. 
  • Experience in EV charging, energy sectors, or SaaS is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in agile product management methods.
