Agro Pricing and Portfolio Intern

About the Role

 

Your main activities will be:

• Development and maintenance of costing and pricing models, quantitative tools, and dashboards (BI), supporting effective decision-making by underwriters and senior managers.
• Participation in strategic and tactical discussions, engaging in conversations on portfolio steering and pricing for the Agro line of business.
• Support in decision-making by providing insights and analytical tools to assist in pricing and portfolio management decisions within the Agro sector.

 

Critical responsibilities involve business intelligence, market intelligence, costing, pricing, portfolio steering, data curation, quarterly financial reporting, and reporting to internal stakeholders. Interaction with IT, underwriting, and finance teams is expected.

 

 

About the Team

 

We are a small team of seasoned professionals supporting the leadership and underwriting colleagues in delivering on the core mandates of the Agro line of business. Together, we hold expertise in actuarial pricing, underwriting, data analytics, strategic management, market intelligence, and financial modeling.

 

 

About You

 

As a natural critical thinker, you're comfortable in proactively finding new – more efficient – ways in delivering on your objectives, primarily independently. You have a solid quantitative background and interest in the business landscape, with a curious mind. You are open to engage with colleagues to communicate in person, in writing, and online meetings.

 

Must have:

• University student in Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Meteorology, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent. Graduation expected in 2026. 
• Advanced English.
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning to solve problems.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn R, Python, Power BI, Advanced Excel, and SQL.
• Curiosity and eagerness to explore new ideas, tools, and methods to improve processes and decision-making.
• Innovative and adaptable to change, with the ability to take proactive ownership and gradually develop independence in prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.

 

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge in Data Science, Climate or Agriculture.
• Knowledge in Finance or Macroeconomy.
• Knowledge in IFRS17 or other accounting standards.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a work environment where new relationships and projects constantly emerge.
