Job Purpose:

The Global Data Operations Manager oversees the team that processes and delivers data output to Fugro's client-facing entities in the APAC, AMER, and EUAF regions. The role involves accountability for the team's results, significant impact on engineering and geoscience activities, addressing issues beyond the team's scope, providing input for department plans to management, fostering cooperation within and between departments, and having full management authority including decisions on pay and terminations. The manager oversees a group of supervisors and large complex operations team(s) and may also serve as the Service Line Manager for a small Service Line, taking on the day-to-day Service Line Management responsibilities. Close collaboration with internal client-facing entities is essential to ensure timely and high-quality work, including ongoing improvements to cost models. The manager also coordinates with internal Innovation Teams to support product development for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Operations Management:

  • To develop and lead the team responsible for achieving our operational excellence targets for delivery of geospatial data consisting primarily of timely delivery and exceptional quality.
  • Global Data Operations Manager and his/her team will ensure the highest levels of internal client satisfaction for our Global Fugro base clients. 
  • In this role he/she will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of day-to-day management of data operations including but not limited to: Recruitment and training of data operations personnel (primarily Geospatial), Process and procedure - Adoption and implementation of both corporate and team specific, QHSSE – supported by regional and global QHSSE, Work management (resource planning, rostering, productivity etc.), Financial management supported through finance teams.
  • He/She will work with the internal client facing entities to continually innovate both technologically.
  • In collaboration with regional internal client facing entities develop commercial proposals for the data processing and delivery component of our solutions: Includes continuous updating of cost models, Includes resource forecasting to determine delivery timeline.
  • He/She shall build close relationships with Innovation Teams that support product development for continuous improvement, drive automation and ultimately creating client value.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day running of all tasks associated to data operations including but not limited to: RAW data Quality checks, Pre-processing, Cloud automation sequencing, QC and QA of processed data delivery, Data publications, Managing uptime of team and systems, Support to regional entities, Maintenance of systems, Scheduling/rostering, Monitoring utilization, Financial management of teams, Weekly engagement with regional internal client facing entities.
  • Assists in the development of new process/ systems
  • Work closely, building and fostering productive working relationships and collaborating with others as required (both internal and external).
  • Works closely with other Fugro employees to meet operational requirements.
  • Establish KPI’s and hold staff accountable to them.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Management:

  • Determine resource requirements pertaining to personnel, equipment, financial, etc, with department managers, and other Fugro managers.
  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise personnel; terminate as required and authorized.
  • Supervise the induction of new personnel (direct report) and participate in the welcoming of all new hires (meeting): 1.) Creating an environment of continuous improvement in process and procedure, 2.) Ensuring team members embrace and adopt Fugro’s well established corporate business processes
  • Undertake new hire reviews after 60-90 days of relevant personnel (direct report) and ensure new hire reviews are conducted by relevant managers.
  • Approve training requests based on corporate objectives.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and interim reviews of staff reporting to them.

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
