Bottomline Technologies is seeking a Sr. Data Analytics Engineer who will be part of the Finance team and reports into the Manager of Analytics and Intelligence. The successful candidate will work to ensure that the Finance department has the tools, models, data sources, and technical knowledge required to generate value added insights for senior leadership and enable success for the business.  

  

This person should enjoy managing high volumes of commercial, financial, and operational data and be comfortable providing forecasts, analysis, and solutions. They will have the opportunity to directly influence senior management, and their conclusions will have a wide-ranging impact on the commercial decisions of our business. They will also have opportunity to work closely with other Product development teams for knowledge share and collaboration.   

  

Position Overview:  

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Data Engineer to join our dynamic team with more than 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data warehouse tools, particularly Snowflake, and possess strong Python scripting capabilities for data transformation & Automation. Expertise in SQL, advanced Excel, data modeling, and BI tools like Power BI is essential. The role requires an individual who can quickly grasp business requirements, convert them into functional models, perform testing and analysis, and manage a team effectively.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Perform data transformations using Python, particularly with packages such as pandas.  

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for FP&A division of Bottomline using data warehouse tools like Snowflake.  

• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.  

• Utilize advanced Excel functionalities for data analysis and reporting.  

• Design and implement data models to support data warehousing and analytics.  

• You will be Automating the Process related to financial performance, forecasting and budgeting using Python 

• Maintaining Snowflake Datawarehouse in terms of creating the Table, View with the DDL and DML methodology  

• Ensure accuracy of data for all the report by doing validation  

• Translate business needs into functional requirements providing essential information on business use cases. 

• Translate functional requirements into thorough and feasible data products, analytics solutions, and dynamic dashboards. 

• Utilize Python, SQL, or R for data retrieval and manipulation. 

• Develop, assess, and maintain data, using the SQL Scripting, ensuring data reliability and quality. 

• Analyse, interpret, and visualize data to drive business process optimization and fact-based decision-making. 

• Create, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI. 

• Perform a comprehensive analysis and proactively implement solutions to assess and enhance data quality and data reliability. 

• Coaching the FP&A team members to support their development. 

• Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.  

  

Required Skills and Qualifications:  

• Data Engineering & Warehousing: Proficiency with data warehouse tools, specifically Snowflake.  

• Python Scripting: Strong experience with Python for data transformation, especially using pandas & Jupyter.  

• SQL: Advanced skills in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.  

• Data Modeling: Experience in designing and implementing data models.  

• Power BI: Proficient in creating dashboards, implementing RLS, and administering Power BI workspaces.  

• Business Acumen: Ability to quickly understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.  

• Testing & Analysis: Skilled in performing testing and validation of data processes.  

  

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with Alteryx.  

• Knowledge of data governance and best practices in data management.  

• Familiarity with other data transformation tools and languages.
