About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Technology & Innovation Digital Solutions Group. As a Sr. DevOps Engineer supporting the Digital Solutions Group, you will join a team where you can leverage your DevOps experience and operate a new software services and application platform.  You will be part of a team that is highly motivated about our mission to build pioneering trusted medical solutions to improve the lives we touch. You will be the key interface between operations, IT, quality, regulatory, suppliers and our design teams to ensure that we have a robust DevOps tool chain comprising of requirements management, software configuration management, production pipelines and deployment environments.  You will be accountable for the uptime of our SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) platform and services. 

Your Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• The overarching responsibility of this role is to ensure all DevOps responsibilities are performed on assigned projects 
• You will lead the design, development, and execution of our end-to-end DevOps tool chain, including development of associated IQ/OQ/PQ
• You will develop and institutionalize best practices for building and operating highly reliable and scalable systems
• You will consult in design phases to estimate reliability and scalability requirements
• You will evaluate and architect storage solutions, deployment, and performance tuning
• You will support assigned projects with deployments of application and services for developers, testers, UAT and product launch
• You will maintain existing systems for availability, upgrades, and general system health, including security
• You will be expected to work with key stakeholders and ensure there is alignment in the DevOps strategy and execution plan
• You will work with suppliers to ensure timely configuration and deployment of services during various stages of our projects
• You will participate in troubleshooting and problem solving of development stage and post market production issues
• You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in developing best deployment strategies and system architectures

 

About You:

You are a self-starter demonstrating a high level of initiative and flexibility and comfortable working in a highly regulated environment. You are comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where the teams are multi-disciplinary. You are extremely detail oriented and have standard of quality that ensures the products we ship have best-in-class customer experience. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills; a positive can-do-attitude; and a proven ability to work with geographically distributed teams with diverse background and experience.

Qualifications/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields.  Master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience (incl. administration) with Microsoft Azure is required. Experience with AWS is a plus.
• 5+ years’ experience with setting up CI/CD systems using Azure DevOps with scripting using Terraform, Bash, Ruby or Python is required.
• 3+ years’ experience in building pipelines for Data Analytics and MLOps using platforms such as Databricks, Azure AI/ML, Microsoft Fabric, AWS Sagemaker, etc. is required.
• 5+ years’ experience with development and integrating tools such as JAMA/Cockpit, JIRA, GitHub/Gitlab, Jenkins, SonarQube/Veracode, Mend.io, Crucible, Artifactory etc is required. Experience in integration PLM tools such as Polarion, TeamCenter is a plus.
• 3+ years’ experience in configuration and automation of triggers, jobs, workflows in Azure.
• 3+ years’ product development experience in a regulated space and preferably in the medical device area. Lesser years of experience maybe considered based on education and professional experience.
• Position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, mostly within US but overseas travel is expected.  Most trips will include overnight travel.
• 3+ years’ experience with IT networking infrastructure such as directory services (LDAP/NIS), authentication protocols (such as SAML, OAuth/OpenID, etc.) with SSO and networking fundamentals including switching, routing, firewall, DNS, subnetting, etc. is required.
• Experienced with orchestration tools such as Jenkins.  Experienced with infrastructure as code using Terraform or Chef is required.
• Strong background in virtualization and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc. is required.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure is preferred.
• Experience in building medical device products based on data science and ML is preferred.
