The Product Analytics Team is a centralized analytics group working closely with product line development teams across the company to democratize ML/analytics across all Autodesk products. We are on a mission to build a centralized Insights and recommendation platform that powers product insights across all Autodesk products. We are seeking an Architect with unparalleled expertise in cloud architecture and large-scale distributed systems. This is a strategic leadership role that goes beyond technical execution, driving architectural vision, influencing organizational strategy, and delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges. A core part of this role will be to act as a coach and mentor for the engineering and architecture teams, fostering a culture of learning, empathy, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Define Architectural Vision: Develop and articulate the long-term architectural strategy, enabling scalability, reliability, and efficiency across our systems.
- Strategic Contributions: Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the company’s technical direction, aligning it with business objectives and growth strategies.
- Lead Large-Scale Initiatives: Drive end-to-end design and execution of complex, cross-functional programs, from legacy system modernization to new platform development.
- Foster Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to ensure Autodesk stays at the forefront of industry advancements.
- Mentor and Inspire: Serve as a trusted mentor to principal engineers, architects, and engineering leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Cross-Organization Collaboration: Act as a bridge between engineering, product management, and business units, driving alignment and solving critical challenges in organizational accountability.
- Cloud Leadership: Define cloud strategies to optimize cost, performance, and security while ensuring a seamless migration to modern cloud-native architectures.
- Scale Systems Globally: Architect and oversee systems capable of supporting multi-billion event streams, multi-petabyte-scale storage, and millions of users globally.
Requirements:
- Experience: 15+ years in software development, including 8+ years in architectural leadership roles, with a focus on cloud and large-scale systems.
- Strategic Vision: Proven ability to contribute at the executive level, aligning technical direction with business goals and organizational priorities.
- Cloud Expertise: Mastery of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures, including microservices, serverless, and event-driven design.
- Technical Depth: Extensive experience with distributed systems, database design (relational and NoSQL), and event-streaming platforms like Kafka or similar technologies.
- Programming Proficiency: Strong knowledge of languages such as Python, JavaScript, or equivalent.
- Data & ML Synergy: Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure, data pipelines, and real-time analytics.
- Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers, influencing organizational technical decisions, and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Collaboration: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to align diverse teams and drive consensus.
- Leadership & Empathy: Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor engineers and architects with empathy, focusing on their professional growth and technical excellence.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing systems that handle billions of daily transactions and multi-petabyte-scale data.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in large-scale systems.
- Experience working in globally distributed teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Direct experience with SaaS products or basic understanding of Autodesk products like AutoCAD and Fusion (preferred).
