We are currently looking to create an exciting new Global Business Insight Analyst position responsible for working with all Dentons entities around the globe to coordinate financial data reconciliations and to assist in the optimization of financial processes and maintenance of global financial standards.

As Dentons transitions to a data driven organization, this role is an ideal opportunity for a motivated, detail orientated, data focused accountant to significantly influence the embedding of analysis into the decision making process of leadership in the worlds largest law firm.     

The role is a remote working role, with an expectation to attend a local Dentons office periodically, and will require flexibility to work with Dentons entities from around the world, across all time zones. 

 

Key Deliverables

Working with the global analytics team and key stakeholders:

  1. Design of a reconciliation process for entity data being passed to global systems, to include notifications, monitoring and escalation
  2. Training of all Dentons entities on process, creating a master list of stakeholders responsible, documenting responsibilities and escalation paths
  3. A dashboard to monitor progress of monthly reconciliations to be available to leadership
  4. Improved processes for the accurate capture of data at source and compliance with financial standards, working alongside entity and global finance teams
  5. The provision of ad hoc support to decision makers facilitating Dentons to become a data driven organization through having access to timely data that is both reliable and able to be interpreted by senior stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  1. Working with each of Dentons entities to ensure that the data provided to global platforms such as our Global Data Insight hub, and our Enterprise Data Base is reconciled regularly to its source, that the data is complete, and that it is an accurate representation of work undertaken for clients.  This will include gathering requirements for additional analysis and working with developers to deliver solutions to meet the business need.
  2. Working with each of Dentons entities on remediation activity in the event of data issues being identified will be essential, ensuring that minimum financial standards are embedded within best practice and working with colleagues in the Global Data Insight (GDI) team, and the Data Services team should changes to integrations to global systems be required.
  3. A key component of the role is forming trusted relationships with finance team members around the globe and collaborating effectively to drive up minimum financial standards and improve the quality and reliability of our data.

Requirements

·       Strong and personable communication skills, with business international level of English and Spanish – both written and oral, knowledge of French would be as asset.

·       Demonstrable success of working within a team, meeting shared goals

·       Demonstrable and progressive experience in the areas of data manipulation and analytics,

·       A fastidiousness for accurate, reconciled analysis with the personality to not rest until imbalances are found

·       Experience of influencing and engaging stakeholders, including building and managing relationships.

·       Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting demands.

·       Strong intellectual rigor and commercial awareness.

·       Demonstrable problem-solving skills, thinking outside of the box to deliver the desired result gathering appropriate data to support a full evaluation of options for a solution

·       Ability to interpret business requirements into tangible action plans and communicate those clearly

·       A commitment to continual learning ad adapting ways of working to deliver results

Essential Qualifications / Experience

·       Qualified accountant/engineer/data scientist with minimum 5 years of working experience

·       Data manipulation and analysis skills, with business acumen to use data to solve problems

·       Strong business English, both written and verbal, with French and Spanish verbal skills as highly desirable  

·      Microsoft tools expertise, to include Office, and in particular advanced Excel functions required for data reconciliation, and ideally strength and experience in Power Query and PowerBi

·      Experience of process optimization

·      Experience of designing reporting to meet business needs
