Software Engineer Intern

The Opportunity...As a Software Engineering intern at Centerfield, you’ll work directly with our Engineering team. You’ll help create online and offline customer acquisition features for Centerfield products. You’ll learn how to develop intelligent digital advertising technology; focused on real-time biddable media.
You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle of AI-powered conversational omnichannel platforms, from initial design to final testing. These platforms will provide seamless customer experiences across various channels.
You will contribute to the development of data-driven insights and products by constructing APIs that integrate multiple data streams. These APIs will fuel our data engineering and science teams, enabling them to derive valuable insights to share with stakeholders and partners.
We provide interns with the skills and tools to be successful as they start their careers. Centerfield is a learning environment. Projects…1. You’ll be involved in the design, development, and testing of software solutions within areas such as AI-powered conversational omnichannel platforms, enabling seamless customer interactions across multiple channels, using tools such as Twilio, and Google DialogFlow CX.2. You’ll contribute towards building analytic and insights products and platforms by building APIs that connect multiple data streams to fuel our data engineering and data science teams to run machine learning practices.

How You'll Contribute...

• Develop and write high-quality code
• Participate in daily standups and sprint retros
• Debug and review code
• Query and manipulating data at scale
• Integrate third-party APIs
• Build UI features for customer-facing web applications
• Further, develop technical skills with an experienced team of developers and learn from a personal mentor
• Cross-collaborate with other departments on building out new features for Centerfield’s suite of products.
• Complete an engineering project for your department that impacts the business
• At the end of your internship, you’ll present your project and final product to department heads and your leadership team at our office in Playa Vista, CA

What We're Looking For...

• Eagerness to learn! Someone who wants to jump in and learn new skills and immediately apply them to real-world problems and products
• Rising seniors or new graduates who expect to complete their degree in Spring 2024
• You have an interest in digital marketing or advertising and are eager to learn more about Centerfield’s industry!
• You are local to our Playa Vista HQ and are willing to come into the office 3 days a week!
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a relevant field

Preferred Qualifications…
• Gaining knowledge in SQL and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with data storage and retrieval systems
• Forming comprehension of web technologies such as Node.js and Python
• Working understanding of javascript frameworks and libraries like jQuery
• Developing literacy in Front End languages such as HTML, React, and JavaScript
• Developing literacy in Back End languages such as PHP, C#, and Java
• Working understanding of cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Azure
• Familiarity of Search Engine Optimization concepts
• Familiarity with voice technologies such as Twilio
• Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS and GCP
