Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a skilled and dynamic ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) Engineer to support a government aviation program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ELINT systems and capabilities in support of aviation operations. The ELINT Engineer will work closely with other engineering teams, operators, and stakeholders to integrate advanced ELINT technologies into aviation platforms and ensure high-performance capabilities for mission success.

 

Examples of duties include but not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and optimize ELINT systems to support aviation platforms in government operations, ensuring their effectiveness in gathering and analyzing electronic intelligence.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of electronic signals, developing tools and methodologies for detecting, intercepting, and analyzing electromagnetic emissions relevant to aviation operations.
  • Work closely with aviation systems engineers to integrate ELINT hardware and software with existing and new aircraft systems.
  • Provide technical expertise in the testing, validation, and optimization of ELINT sensors and signal processing systems for airborne platforms.
  • Develop algorithms and signal processing techniques for enhanced detection and classification of electromagnetic signals of interest.
  • Collaborate with mission planners, operators, and intelligence teams to ensure that ELINT systems support operational needs and meet government mission requirements.
  • Support the analysis and reporting of ELINT data to enhance situational awareness and inform decision-making.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to ELINT system performance, reliability, and integration in aviation platforms.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current and emerging ELINT technologies and trends to ensure the aviation program remains on the cutting edge of capability.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and operators on ELINT system usage, capabilities, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Support OCONUS missions and deployments as needed, assisting with integration and operational testing of ELINT systems in challenging environments.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ELINT engineering, with at least 2 years of experience supporting aviation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of electronic warfare (EW), signal processing, and the operation of ELINT systems.
  • Experience with RF (Radio Frequency) systems, antenna design, and signal detection technologies.
  • Proficiency in ELINT data analysis tools and signal processing software.
  • Knowledge of avionics and aviation systems integration, particularly as it relates to ELINT technologies.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on government or military aviation programs.
  • Familiarity with DoD electronic warfare (EW) systems and aviation platforms.
  • Expertise in radar, communications, and other RF-based systems for ELINT applications.
  • Prior experience with OCONUS deployments and field testing of ELINT systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of signal processing, software development, and ELINT data fusion techniques.
  • Knowledge of military aviation operational environments and mission planning.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE:  This Position requires an Active TS/SCI, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
