AI Engineering - Lead Software Engineer

Nasdaq's Global Technology (GT) team is committed to creating and supporting solutions that power more than 115 of the world’s market infrastructure organizations and market participants, including US markets, broker-dealers, exchanges, clearinghouses, central securities depositories and regulators, in over 50 countries with end-to-end, mission-critical technology solutions. These solutions entail managing and mitigating risk, enhancing integrity, and protecting reputations with trade surveillance, behavioral analytics and risk management.

You will need the following skills and experience:

• Education Required:  at least Masters’ Degree or double degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science and our industry; or equivalent work experience. 
• At least 8 years of meaningful experience.
• Special Qualifications:  Continues to develop computer engineering qualifications relevant to the industry challenges.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, with a deep understanding of its ecosystem and best practices.
• Extensive experience with AWS and cloud technologies, including serverless architectures.
• Mastery of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Lean) and ability to lead teams using these approaches.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
• Familiarity with Visual Studio Code and other modern development environments
• Expert-level experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Proven expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform

• Advanced knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and handling unstructured data.
• Understanding of Generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop team members.
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the Generative AI Development Team.
• Architect and implement cutting-edge Generative AI applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous integration/deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Oversee the collection, preprocessing, and curation of large datasets essential for training high-quality generative AI models.
• Lead the gathering of user feedback and iterate on designs to enhance usability and satisfaction.
• Enforce high code standards and best practices through rigorous peer code reviews and mentoring.
• Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to complex problems faced by the team.
• Effectively manage and coordinate geographically dispersed teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
• Represent the team in technical discussions with stakeholders and partner teams across the organization.

What happens now?

This is a full-time permanent position located in Vilnius. Nasdaq offers a hybrid workplace to find a balance between working from home and collaborating in the office, therefore it's required to come into the office at least 2 days per week.

Monthly base salary 5000 - 5900 EUR gross. The final offer will be based on your experience and skills.
