Job Summary 

Otsuka’s internship program, Intern the Otsuka Way (InTOW), offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop critical skills while contributing to meaningful projects. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, learn about the complexities of the pharmaceutical industry, and gain insights into potential career paths. By combining practical experience with professional development, our program prepares interns for future success. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, as well as insightful lunch and learns.

Job Description  

• Assist with Programming Tasks: 

• Develop and test simple SAS programs to support data analysis. 

• Modify existing code under supervision to produce datasets or statistical outputs (e.g., Tables, Listings, Figures). 

• Review and validate programs and outputs for consistency and accuracy. 

• Data Preparation and Management: 

• Support the creation or review of SDTM or ADaM datasets, ensuring alignment with defined specifications. 

• Conduct basic data checks for completeness and accuracy. 

• Documentation Support: 

• Assist in maintaining documentation for programming activities, including program specifications and validation records. 

• Update tracking tools for project timelines and deliverables. 

• Learning and Development: 

• Participate in team meetings and programming workshops. 

• Gain exposure to industry standards such as CDISC, SDTM, and ADaM. 

• Collaborative Work: 

• Work closely with senior programmers and statisticians to gain insights into the role of statistical programming in clinical research. 

• Contribute to small, well-defined tasks as part of larger project deliverables. 

Qualifications 

Minimum: 

• By Fall 2025 candidate must be considered a rising senior  

• Major or field of study – Any Biological Sciences, Quantitative or related field. 

• Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship.

• Can commit to full duration of internship program.    

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Technical Knowledge: 

• Basic Programming experience (e.g., SAS, R, Python, or SQL) 

• Familiarity with data structures and statistical concepts is a plus. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
