Senior Manager, Data and Analytics

About the Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated Leader of Data & Analytics to build and lead Purple Carrot’s central data function, combining strategic leadership with deep technical expertise to drive business outcomes. This role is at the heart of Purple Carrot’s strategy, ensuring we leverage data to power decisions, improve efficiency, and support growth. As a cross-functional leader, you’ll partner with departments company-wide to transform data insights into actionable business strategies, foster a culture of analytics innovation and drive a best-in-class data ecosystem.

On your plate:

• Guide a multidisciplinary team of Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers, fostering collaboration, growth, and innovation.
• Define and execute a comprehensive strategy that integrates analytics, engineering, and business goals.
• Develop advanced analytical methods to interpret large data sets, identify business opportunities and solve complex problems 
• Oversee the design and development of performant, scalable ETL pipelines and data models to ensure a robust infrastructure.
• Use SQL, BI tools (Looker/LookML), and programming languages (Python, R) to create specialized ad hoc analysis, predictive models and actionable insights.
• Partner with senior leadership to identify data needs, prioritize initiatives, drive cross-functional projects, and influence key business decision making
• Evaluate and improve infrastructure, tools and systems to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
• Establish a data governance framework to uphold best practices for data quality, security, and documentation.
• Lead the team in tackling ambiguous challenges with creative and scalable data solutions.
• Establish A/B testing, ROI and KPI frameworks and best practices
• Build out quantitative and data-driven decision making culture that encourages self-service analytics within our business intelligence tool

Requirements

Main Ingredients:

• 6+ years in data analytics, engineering, or related fields, with 2+ years in a leadership role 
• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent work experience
• Strong understanding of analytics platforms, data visualization tools, data warehouses, and data pipeline tools
• Advanced skills in SQL and BI tools (e.g., Looker/LookML) and proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
• Strong grasp of ETL processes, scalable pipeline development, and cloud-based data storage solutions.
• Proven ability to balance long-term vision with immediate execution while managing competing priorities.
• Exceptional ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Effectively communicate complex insights to non-technical audience
• Experienced in mentoring and growing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results.
• Collaborative, curious, and resilient, thriving in fast-paced, complex problem-solving environments.
