About Team:

Supply Chain Technology(SCT) Data Science team at Walmart is focused on using the latest research in Machine learning and Computer Vision to solve business problems in supply chain process flow. We build Computer vision models to enable QC, ranking and classification algorithms for next gen use cases to empower decision-making, solve optimization problems and work with engineering team to build reference architectures and pipelines in a big data ecosystem. Advanced analytical algorithms driven by our team help Walmart to optimize supply chain operations, business practices, reduce cost and pass those benefits to our customers.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our growing store operations team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and scaling our intelligence system for store operations and ensuring a robust and scalable data-driven decision-making system.

What you'll do:

  • Build Walmart-scale optimizations to improve store operations efficiency, boost GMV, using cutting-edge techniques in the industry.
  • Support the model development lifecycle from ideation to deployment, ensuring high standards of model performance and robustness.
  • Design and deploy production-grade machine learning models and optimization algorithms using robust software engineering principles.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on testability, modularity, and reusability.
  • Design scalable inference systems for real-time and batch predictions.
  • Optimize model performance for latency, throughput, and resource efficiency.
  • Build monitoring tools and processes to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Debug and resolve issues in a live production environment, ensuring minimal downtime.  

What you'll bring:

  • Masters in Engineering / Technology or MSc with 4 years of industry relevant experiences
  • Ability to develop scalable and high-performance systems for optimization and machine learning problems, leveraging languages like Java, C++, and Python. 
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns.
  • Experience in developing scalable, distributed systems and working with microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with data processing tools and frameworks such as Apache Kafka or Spark.
  • Hands-on experience with a cloud environment like GCP or Azure, including managed services for ML and optimization workflows.
  • Experience in low-latency systems, with a proven ability to optimize computationally intensive algorithms for performance and scalability.
  • Knowledge of basic ML algo and it's scalable implementation
