POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Senior Manager, Data Science for Nestle Health Sciences USA, Data and Analytics team, you will serve as the analytics expert and leader across all data science initiatives currently in flight or being planned, building, enhancing and applying sophisticated, interconnected and predictive algorithms to drive profitable growth across the enterprise.

 

Role will be responsible for building out and managing a team of data scientists responsible for delivery of data science / advanced analytics solutions within Nestle Health Science's projects and will oversee day-to-day work execution and prioritization and own career development of these roles.

 

The preferred candidate will be within commutable distance to the Nestlé Health Science Headquarter location in Bridgewater, NJ , or our other hub locations in the NY Metro market, Chicago, IL, or Palm Beach, FL.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive analytics program, leveraging advanced data science techniques to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize business performance across various functions.
  • Drive strategic planning for the data science program by defining objectives, identifying key performance indicators, and aligning analytics initiatives with organizational goals to enhance overall business strategy and competitive advantage.
  • Create and execute advanced pricing, promotion, mix, price pack architecture (PPA), assortment, and other analytics initiatives to identify growth opportunities / insights.
  • Deliver Analysis and insights and develop new tools e.g., Power Ranking to advance capabilities and improve speed to value.
  • Maintain and update existing tools needed for the ongoing execution of analytics within business functions.
  • Be single point of contact for all analytics needs of the analytics team.
  • Accountable for integrating consumer insights and developing data-driven recommendations.
  • Accountable for testing and implementation of advanced analytics methods to derive insights that drive business growth.
  • Drive analytics priorities through rapid piloting and scaling of next gen technologies.
  • Incorporate the latest data science thinking into solutions and models.
  • Generate innovative, cross-functional solutions which comprehensively address the needs of the business.
  • Partner with leadership teams to understand the analytics needs of functional initiatives and implement insights.
  • Manage team of data scientists / analysts, responsible for delivery of data science components of solutions / project.
  • Lead and develop a team of data scientists, manage day-to-day work execution and prioritization, foster career growth, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize data science work and allocate resources across tracks as appropriate.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong business acumen, i.e., understanding of how business operates, and how to harness data and analytics to meet business needs
  • Proven ability to build complex analytical models that incorporate coefficients, elasticities, and insights from disparate syndicated data sources into one solution.
  • Strong working knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (Regression, Clustering, Decision Tree, Probability Networks, AI, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Bayesian models etc.) and how to apply them.
  • Proficient with one or more programming language such as R, Python, SAS.
  • Advanced skill interpreting, extrapolating and interpolating data for statistical research and modeling.
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using PowerBI and/or Tableau.
  • Experience translating business needs into technical, data science requirements and leading a team of data scientists to deliver data science solutions that are highly targeted to address business needs and add meaningful value.
  • Passion for solving complex data problems and generating cross-functional solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially focused and consumer-centric.
  • Experience with people leadership within a matrixed organization through both direct and indirect reports.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar field. Master's Degree is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience using various programming languages (Python, R, Java, Scala) to develop and apply advanced machine learning methods and algorithms to address business priorities. Minimum requirement of 5+ years of demonstrated experience with Python or R.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team working on a variety of projects simultaneously within a matrix organization. Consumer goods experience is preferred.

The approximate pay range for this position is $165,000 to $180,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
