Job Summary 

Otsuka’s internship program, Intern the Otsuka Way (InTOW), offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop critical skills while contributing to meaningful projects. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, learn about the complexities of the pharmaceutical industry, and gain insights into potential career paths. By combining practical experience with professional development, our program prepares interns for future success. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, as well as insightful lunch and learns.

Job Description  

• Develop and implement automated data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL) using relevant technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, cloud-based data services). 

• Automate the deployment and management of machine learning models using MLOps principles and tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow). 

• Contribute to the development of monitoring and alerting systems for data pipelines and model performance. 

• Collaborate with data scientists to understand their data needs and translate them into efficient and scalable solutions. 

• Document processes, workflows, and code for reproducibility and maintainability. 

• Explore and evaluate new technologies and tools for data integration and automation. 

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving team best practices. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and automation systems. 

  

Qualifications 

Minimum: 

• By Fall 2025 candidate must be considered an undergraduate senior and/or a master’s level student.  

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases. 

• Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. 

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. 

• Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) is a plus. 

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools (e.g., Git, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies. 

• Passion for data science and automation. 

• Strong programming skills in Python. 

• Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship. 

• Can commit to full duration of internship program.  

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). 

• Contributions to open-source projects. 

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Minimum $22.00 - Maximum $25.30: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting pay for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual pay such as the candidate’s educational background and specific skills.
