Position SummaryThis role is a blend of technical expertise in data engineering and business intelligence analytics. The ideal candidate is a positive, growth-oriented individual who will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and delivering insights through advanced BI tools. The Business Intelligence Data Engineer (BIDE) strives for operational excellence by providing accurate, congruent and reliable and is easily accessible/digestible. They work closely with Quench’s senior IT staff and internal customers to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. The ideal candidate possesses a high degree of personal responsibility, accountability, and professional integrity; and can thrive in autonomous or collaborative environments.
Primary Responsibilities:Data Engineering:· Develop and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from various sources.· Optimize and manage data storage solutions such as relational databases, data lakes, and cloud-based warehouses (e.g., Synapse Data Warehousing, Snowflake, Redshift).· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data architecture and governance best practices.· Monitor data pipeline performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and reliability.· Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies.· Maintain the source of truth for Quench’s data across multiple systems.
Secondary Responsibilities:Business Intelligence & Analytics:· Design, develop, and maintain advanced dashboards, visualizations, and reports using Power BI.· Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business objectives.· Collaborate with business stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and create data models that align with business goals.· Provide technical expertise to optimize BI tools and integrate them with data engineering workflows.· Perform ad-hoc data analyses to address specific business questions and challenges.
Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems/Engineering, or 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience.· 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing and business intelligence analytics.· Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Servier).· Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R for data processing and analytics.· Experience in integrating with and managing APIs (e.g., REST, GraphQL) for data extraction and transformation.· Hands-on experience with data integration solutions (e.g. MS Data Factory, Informatica, SAP Data Services, Talend)· Expertise with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt) and cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, AWS, Azure).· Advanced experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.· Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and ETL/ELT processes.· Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:· Experience in agile and scrum project management techniques in ticket-based tracking systems such as Jira or Salesforce case management· Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Spark).· Knowledge of predictive analytics, machine learning, or statistical modeling techniques.· Certification in relevant BI, cloud platforms, or Data Engineering tools.
Nice to have:· Experience with ServiceMax, Zuora, Financial Force, Salesforce CPQ, Supply Chain Management, Call Center Analytics· Familiarity with Salesforce dashboard and reporting
