Salary Range:$80,000-$90,000 annually

Position Summary:
The Business & Data Analyst plays an important role in managing financial and operational data to support HDC's Asset Management team. This role involves supporting NYCHA PACT reporting, overseeing quarterly rent roll reporting, and assisting with loan delinquency monitoring to provide actionable insights for policy and operational decision-making. The analyst will also contribute to the development of data tools and visualization systems, enhancing the organization’s ability to assess portfolio performance.
This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Analysis and will work collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed reports to monitor project status, arrears, vacancies, and financial indicators.
- Analyze loan delinquency data monthly, creating dashboards and visualizations to track trends and flag potential risks.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather, validate, and process data for various reports and projects.
- Assist in building and refining key data resources, ensuring their accuracy and accessibility across the organization.
- Leverage tools like SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to create efficient workflows for data collection, processing, and reporting.
- Identify and implement enhancements to current reporting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support the Portfolio Analysis team and other departments within Asset Management to inform policy and operational strategies.
- Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects as requested by leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with substantial coursework in data analytics, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial data analysis, reporting, or related fields.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and at least one data analysis/visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL).
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver analytics projects to address operational and strategic questions.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local affordable housing programs including tax incentives and mortgage lending.
- Experience coding in R (Tidyverse), Python (Pandas), or other data analysis software (e.g., Stata).
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies independently using online resources.
- Aptitude for operational problem solving
