Our Team:

Our team is responsible for acquiring and maintaining full life cycle of Equity Corporate Actions data, for example dividend, stock split and right offerings. In order to create comprehensive client experience across the product offerings, multi-functional collaboration, deep domain knowledge, thoughtful automation, and data management expertise are paramount for our ability to continuously deliver high quality data to our rapidly growing client base. Our data is a key building block in Bloomberg's overall offering, being used by many of our clients.

What’s the Role?

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for finance, data, and technology to enhance value from our data products. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Bloomberg's equity corporate actions' database to deliver an industry-leading data product offering. You will be responsible for supporting customer service requests, timely onboarding and fixing of corporate action data. You will collaborate closely with distributed team members and business partners, managing priorities of different initiatives and using your deep understanding of fast changing market dynamics and client needs and ensure data is fit for purpose, discoverable and ready to use. Your geographical coverage is mainly APAC region with solid focus on Japanese market. You will also have the opportunity to participate in technical initiatives for data processing workflow enhancement. This involves performing necessary market and analytical research to design sourcing, data ingestion and data quality, as well as working closely with engineering and the business for implementation.

  • Maintain, improve and deliver high quality data for the our products
  • Build domain expertise for the data and market nuances surrounding them with particular focus on equities and APAC markets
  • Understand our customers’ needs and markets to ensure the data is fit for purpose
  • Provide industry leading customer service through our help desk in both English and Japanese language
  • Use your understanding of our data to improve user experience
  • Implement quality control strategies including development of quality control rules
  • Analyze the quality control result and plan and implement appropriate actions to improve quality
  • Collaborate globally with data analysts, data management professionals and Engineering for the development and enhancement of data processing workflow
  • Assist data product teams, News and Sales department on data related inquiries and analysis
  • Uncover opportunities for the data and solution enhancement to better serve clients

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Business, STEM or related field/equivalent experience
  • Business level English and Japanese in all aspects (speaking, reading and writing) JLPT N1 level or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team environment
  • Good communication, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Commitment to improving data management through the collection, classification, and maintenance of our data
  • Ability to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to tackle problems
  • Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to handle priorities from multiple internal and external partners
  • Ability to adapt within a fast-paced and dynamic environment

We’d Love to See:

  • Experience with Bloomberg’s products or other financial data providers’ products
  • Experience in the equity market and associated corporate actions
  • Experience with data management tools such as SQL/Python querying language
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikSense
  • Understanding of financial data and its competitive landscape
