About the Role

 

 

  • Leads a team responsible for managing and maintaining dashboards, visualisations and data models as part of the management of a portfolio of data & analytics products
  • Works collectively and collaboratively with team members to guide them on the maintenance and support of dashboards and analytics products •Understands and applies new reporting & analytics products as they become available and are aligned to overall data and visualisation strategy, directing the decommission of redundant or duplicated products
  • Leads the ongoing insight analytics product management, business intelligence and product lifecycle management associated with data and analytical assets
  • Uses, stores, classifies, assesses and processes data/metadata in alignment with BHPs standards and requirements for data quality management, integrity and governance.
  • Defines and structures business problems to understand what can be addressed using analytics, designs analytics solutions and accesses and cleans data to prepare it for the analysis process.  
  • Identifies and assesses risks, making risk informed decisions, using BHP's risk management framework and building a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes 
  • Coaches individuals and teams in the maintenance and support of data and visualisation products
  • Engages with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders as part of delivering the above accountabilities 
  • Applies an understanding of the business context and ways of working to contribute to the team’s overall outcome and performance
  • Manages and monitors performance of the Insights Product Operations team including development of performance targets
  • Proactively engages with customers and business stakeholders for the continuous improvement and life cycle management of products
  • Identifies and manages blockers and performance gaps to support the planned execution by the Insights Product Operations team

About You

 

  • Degree or qualifications in business analytics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or other relevant business degree, required

 

Experience & Technical Competencies
 

  • Extensive relevant analytics experience
  • Proven experience in data visualisation tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Proficient in data collection, data organization, analysis, visualization and presentation of data
  • Ability to optimise dashboards with significant volumes of data.
  • Proven ability to take complex problems and analysis to distil into simple, easy to understand insights.
  • Strong technical design skills
  • Proven ability to deliver effective communications both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
