Job Description

As a Big Data Backend Tech Lead, you'll be at the forefront of building and enhancing Wix's data infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies and complex distributed systems to make significant improvements to our data platforms. In your day-to-day, you will:

• Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems and data services

• Drive architectural decisions and provide technical leadership

• Collaborate closely with top-notch engineers to tackle tough problems and deliver creative solutions

• Ensure high availability and reliability of data for various Wix services and products

• Mentor and guide team members in best practices, including TDD, clean code, and software engineering principles

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience

• Proven experience in designing and building complex, distributed systems

• Proficiency in clean code principles and TDD methodologies

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills

• Familiar with software engineering best practices such as testing, code reviews, and immutability

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

• Knowledge of bad practices and anti-patterns in software development

• Proactive mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
